The Port City Marina team decided the 41st United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis was a great event to debut our new marina in Wilmington, NC. The show is billed as the nation’s oldest and largest in-water powerboat exhibition, and the quaint setting in Annapolis, Maryland delivered a great event. Over 40,000 attendees walked the show which featured everything from luxurious motor yachts and trawlers to high-performance boats and off-shore fishing machines.
Coming off the heels of a successful Sailboat Show, which is held the week prior, the show was buzzing with optimism and most significantly, boat sales! It appears that new boat inventory is starting to show positive signs with buyers closing on several of the larger boats in the powerboat show. We had the opportunity to speak with boat owners, many of which migrate North and South along the ICW during the summer and winter months, and there was a lot of interest in visiting the Wilmington & Cape Fear region.
We took the opportunity to enlist a professional videographer, Ed Kukla from Starboard Films, to document the debut during the show. The video is posted below and on YouTube. Please share & comment to help spread the word.
