City Council Approves Park Purchase

Last night, the Wilmington City Council approved the purchase of a 6.63 acre parcel just north of the new Port City Marina for $3.9 Million USD.  The City plans to create a passive park on the land with area for gardens and room to hold large concerts and events. “It’s a historic moment,” Mayor Bill Saffo said. “The city has been looking for parkland along our riverfront for many years.” This is great news for Port City Marina.  We are looking forward to seeing what the City does to create a draw for the area.
